As we enter summer 2021, there is some uncertainty about the way Rotary continues to offer the human connections that Rotary members have valued over the years. Although the mantra of "hands-face-space" is sure to be part of routine in our club, it is clear that trust is growing and that there is a greater number of face-to-face connections. Rotary's face has changed. It is not without a degree of uncertainty that will continue to grow as we progress into summer 2021. It is yet to be seen if those human connections Rotary members cherished in the past will continue. The motto "hands-in-space" will always be a part of our routines It is clear that confidence is growing as are the more direct connections. Rotary's changed. Volunteers from the community clean up garbage. The network of Rotary creates lasting friendships The epidemic was the catalyst that exposed us to technology in the Rotary world. We have sharpened up our methods of holding the business meetings online while introducing the social and service aspects in a safe face-to-face format. To build a better future for Rotary, we have used the opportunities of the epidemic and our previous habits. It's wonderful to learn that the Rotary support centre team provides important resources to assist with the maintenance and promotion of infrastructure and keeping members and the general public secure. The need for insurance and compliance is essential. Our members' creativity and innovative thinking in dealing with some of life's toughest challenges is astonishing. I am thankful for the opportunities Rotary offered me in 2002 with the opportunity to become a participant. Rotary gave me, and many others, with a network of like-minded, trustworthy people from whom I've formed genuine relationships over the past 20 years. We must now spread the word about Rotary by inviting our friends, family and co-workers to become members.
